A 42-year-old Ukrainian national, Elena Oblamskaya, known by the alias "Lola Ferrari," has appeared before an American court in Portland. However, she has not admitted to any guilt. The court has detained her until the commencement of a four-day jury trial scheduled for July 14. She faces a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison. Oblamskaya was apprehended in Thailand in February. Authorities confiscated her phones, computer equipment, laptop, iPad, and documents. Along with three Russians, Oblamskaya orchestrated the Forsage cryptocurrency scheme, which collected $340 million and was initiated in January 2020. However, the other founders—Vladimir Okhotnikov, Mikhail Sergeev, and Sergey Maslakov—remain at large. The project's smart contract automatically distributed funds from new users to previous participants, while the founders diverted a portion of the investors' money into their own wallets. According to the prosecution, more than half of Forsage's clients were left empty-handed.
