The bank will buy out the custodial business from its subsidiary. Standard Chartered Ventures, together with Northern Trust, founded Zodia Custody in 2020, and the bank retains a controlling stake. After the completion of the deal, Zodia Custody will continue to operate as an independent platform providing software. Standard Chartered predicts that the volume of tokenized assets will reach $4 trillion by the end of 2028. The market capitalization of stablecoins and RWAs is expected to be $2 trillion each. Established DeFi protocols are set to gain the most benefit. The adoption of the Clarity Act could act as a catalyst for growth. Currently, the capitalization of stablecoins and RWAs stands at $358.1 billion.
